[Photo/Xinhua] BEIJING -- A home-made wind turbine installation vessel, believed to be the most advanced in China, has been delivered in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, its producer China International Marine Containers (Group) Co Ltd (CIMC) announced.
Two homegrown fourth-generation wind turbine installation vessels, the latest generation in the world, have been delivered in Nantong City of east China's Jiangsu Province. The vessels boast strong resistance to wind and waves and offer a 30-percent increase in installation speed compared with the third generation.
The delivery marks a major step forward in China's capabilities for developing offshore wind farms. Two homegrown fourth-generation wind turbine installation vessels, the latest generation in the world, have been delivered in Nantong City of east China's Jiangsu Province.
The best of both worlds: The windfarm support vessel from Chinese shipyard Aulong Shipbuilding is SWATH catamaran. When the ship is in the wind turbines of the Jiangsu offshore wind farm near the east coast of China to transport maintenance technicians, tools or spare parts, it benefits from the catamaran design.
